it just wanted to give you a chance to ensure you had appropriately winterized your coolant mix

Oh man, it’s a coolant flush without all that hard work of emptying!

Cat clogged on my ranger, cut it off and its too loud to drive. So my parents bought me a 95 4.0 4x4 5 speed manual for $1000 to putter around in until I can afford a new Catalytic Converter. But its needed alot of work since I got it... ie; a new rear axle, new starter, new gaskets, and now a new radiator hose

Hoses fail eventually on all vehicles, especially if the PO hasn’t kept up on maintenance. I’ve replaced literally the entire cooling system on the MJ except the heater core, in bits and pieces. At least the lower hose is easy to get to.

The PO replaced the radiator, but not the hoses or the radiator cap. The lower hose had a pinhole leak and was spraying coolant like a sprinkler head

I’d say you might as well replace the other hoses while the coolant’s drained, possibly the tstat as well if you have any reason to suspect it. But your call. Right now I’m at the “fix the bare minimum” financial stage too. Just had to order a new clutch for the Niva, which hopefully will be the last piece of the puzzle for me to drive it again. Its been down for repairs since May and I’m starting to discover how people can fall out of love with their car. I haven’t driven it for going on six months now...

Oh Ive been back on the road for the past 4 hours or so. I called a mobile mechanic friend of mine from work, he dropped everything and came by, replaced the radiator hose, radiator cap, topped off the coolant and we had the thing back on the road within 30 minutes
